2011 X 15 The patronage of the Polish President for OrthPhoto exhibition
The opening of our third photo exhibition - „The colours of Orthodoxy: Poland” - is approaching fast. The event is due to take place on the 27th of October, 2011. However, before it happens, we would like to share with you a few pieces of information connected with this event.

First of all, we would like to announce that the president of Poland, Mr. Bronislaw Komorowski, has offered his honorary patronage for the exhibition “Colours of Orthodoxy”. We feel extremely happy and honoured by this gesture as it proves that our initiatives are appreciated. Hopefully, the support of such an important person would help us promote our initiative and organize different events not only here, in Poland, but throughout the world.

„Colours of Orthodoxy”, just like the previous exhibition, consists of 200 images. We have already managed to print the majority of images selected for the exhibition. Mr Jan Smyk has offered his help and provides a sountrack for the exhibition. Moreover, we want to play a film by Mr Roman Wasiluk which presents Orthodoxy in Poland.

Traditionally, the exhibition starts its journey through the world in BiaƂystok, the place where OrthPhoto was born. From the moment of the opening in Bialystok we are waiting for offers from pepople who would like to organize the exhibition in their towns.

This year’s exhibition has a special meaning to Poland and Orthodox believers from Poland. This is the first time we are presenting Orthodoxy in one country and we have a chance to show the world how Orthodoxy in Poland looks like.

If you would like to actively participate in organizing of the event you can contact us via
e-mail: info@orthphoto.net.

We would like to thank the Municipality of Bialystok, Foundation Dialogue of the Nations and Bank in Braniewo for their financial support. We would like to express special thanks to Mr. Aleksander Sosna, the president’s advisor for Belorussian and Orthodox community in Poland, for his support to our initiative.

In addition, Orthphoto.net, together with Metropolitan Publishing house of PAKP, are planning to publish an album with photos from the exhibition. Moreover, shortly after the opening of an exhibition we are having a short weekend photography workshop.

More information about our projects will be available in due course.
Again, we would like to encourage you to participate in the events and projects organised by OrthPhoto. Join us!
